In the Italian traditions of l’apertivo and the Venetian Carnivale, experience a cocktail party for the senses: delightful tasting dishes, colourful aperitifs, masked guests and roving performers.
As the Venice Carnivale comes to an end in late February and spring blossoms in Italy, the bars of Milano, Florence and Roma come to life. L’apertivo begins to appear on the balconies and everyone is out to play whilst the sun sets on the horizon.
With the launch of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival the Grosvenor blends the best of these four cities with a sensual combination of food, elegance and cocktails – The Masked L’aperitivo.
L’aperitivo is a bar food concept in some of the major Italian cities, featuring small tasting plates depicting house specialties. The Grosvenor will host a cocktail party in the true style of the Venetian Carnivale.
Delight in the colours of masquerade whilst sipping an assortment of classic-style aperitifs, some not-so-classic cocktails and Italian wines.
Our head chef will treat your tastebuds with a modern spin on some traditional dishes from our long table, such as crede di pesce, carpaccio, salumeri, latticini, crostate, banci freddi, banci caldi, pasticcini, and more. Be entertained with an array of music and roving performers in true Carnivale style.
