Our 1920's original schoolhouse is the start of your Bush Food Experience. All of the old features have been preserved. After you have settled in stroll outside and enjoy the wonderful bushland setting.
We will guide you through our bush food garden where you can experience the wonderful bush food plants such as Lemon and Aniseed Myrtle, Warrigal Greens, River Mint, Rounf Leaf Mint, Mountain Pepper and Native Ginger. The air soon fills with their exotic scents.
We will share our secrets about the culinary uses of each of the plants and talk about their nutritional and medicinal qualities.
Once your appetite is whetted we will serve you a delicious lunch with the unique bush food flavours.
Julie has a wide range of dishes inspired by the variety of the plants. Come along and see what she dreams up for the Bush Food Grazing event.
Some examples are:
Warrigal Greens Pesto with chicken or goats cheese to create crispy filo pastry delights.
Aniseed Myrtle combines wonderfully with roasted vegetables.
Lemon Myrtle works magically with fish and chicken dishes.
We always serve fresh organic salads from our farm vegetable garden.
A dessert specialty here is Aniseed Myrtle and fresh pear upside down cake, served with our home yoghurt or fresh cream.
Our chickens will have laid some fresh free range eggs for you and they will be ready for sale.
The bush food nursery will be open so that you can purchase some of these lovely plants.
