As part of his renowned ongoing series of food related imagery, local artist Jeff Martin placed himself unobtrusively in over forty of Melbourne's famous and sometimes hidden cafes which add to the unique fibre of this city.

Having worked in many aspects of the food industry for over seventeen years before dedicating himself to being a full-time artist in 2002, Jeff has developed an innate understanding, through keen observation, of the varied ways in which each operate.

Sketchbook in hand, he ate or drank at every location whilst deftly depicting the cafe's individual look, pace and ambiance. No doubt you will have enjoyed a coffee or meal at many of them, recognise some and discover a range of others.
