The annual Petty's Orchard Antique Apple Festival is on again on the banks of the Yarra River in Templestowe. This year sees the festival offering tastings of around 200 varieties of apples, orchard tours, a Permablitz in the orchard (go to www.permablitz.net ), presentations from Vasili (Vasili's Garden - SBS), Adam Donnison (Snake Gully Cider), Peter Allen (Heritage Fruits Society) and more to be announced.

As a special treat Peter Combe - Australian children's icon will play throughout the day as part of his tour & visitors will be able to learn more about the historic Pettys Orchard site from Parks Victoria who will have rangers present on the day. Produce stalls will be complemented by the fabulous Rare Breeds BBQ manned by acclaimed La Luna chef Michael Zanegu, cooking up a storm with Warialda Belted Galloway beef.

Delicious organic vegetarian foods by Richard & Lia Dobson of Organic Sunrise Foods. Thirst quenching cider by Snake Gully cider. Hot drinks & organic treats from Yarra Organics. Produce stalls & permaculture information available from Permaculture Melbourne & Eltham College students. Storytelling, children's activities, apple readings, Tim Tim the clown & the lush surrounds of Petty's Orchard all come together for a very special day out for all the family.

This is a bicycle friendly event, situated along the Yarra Trail bike bath.

Alternately, you can put your bike on the train, we are just over 4kms from the Templestowe station.
