Sense of community is a feeling that members have of belonging, a feeling of mattering to one another and a shared belief that their needs will be met through a commitment to be together.

Communities and our food systems are one of the most important ways we can lead a connected life: uniting people to the land, to each other and to their own cultural heritage and traditions.

Promoting food systems that are local, secure, sustainable and socially inclusive help to preserve natural resources, strengthen communities and improve our physical and mental wellbeing. In the process, friendships are made, networks are formed and delicious things are shared.

It is with these guiding thoughts that Melbourne Food and Wine Festival presented by Bank of Melbourne is thrilled to announce ‘Community’ as the overarching theme for 2018.

Join MFWF in fostering a sense of togetherness that celebrates our love of food and wine while also exploring how the way in which we eat impacts the liveability of our communities both now and in the future.
