Janet DeNeefe brings her Bali to Tolarno

Babi Guling suckling pig feast with all the trimmings

Janet DeNeefe presents her famous Balinese home-style cooking in a lavish feast like no other.

For two nights only, the iconic Tolarno Eating House & Bar will morph into a Balinese warung with Janet DeNeefe dishing up her Balinese favourites, Babi Guling, suckling pig.

The pig will be prepared with braised leaves and crispy trimmings and Betutu ayam (roast chicken with snake beans and roasted coconut), all served with steamed rice and lashings of sambal.

Dessert will include a trio of black rice, sago pudding with pandan leaves and warm caramel banana.

In-between bites, Janet will share her secrets of her favourite warungs with images along with performances of traditional Indonesian music.

Janet DeNeefe, Founder & Director of Ubud Food Festival and Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, has lived in Bali for three decades. Her memoir Fragrant Rice charts her love affair with Balinese food, culture and traditions. Her latest book is Bali: Food of My Island Home. She also owns Indus, Casa Luna Restaurant and Cooking School.
