A pillar of his community in life and a brewing legend in death, meet James Squire. With seven professions, 11 children and a brewing legacy that’s lasted 150 years, James’ life makes for one great story. One that's best told with food and beer of course.

Over a five course tasting menu, celebrate the life, times and contributions of James Squire. With a special focus on local Melbourne producers and native ingredients, journey through his life with food… and beer.

You'll be joined by representatives from James Squire brewing, King Island, Cape Grim and Brasserie Bread to talk you through each course.

The Highwayman – The Chancer Golden Ale
Gippsland chicken breast remoulade, baby spinach, candied macadamias, cranberry demi-glace

The Convict -- Swindler Tropical Ale
Honey cured Tasmanian salmon, beetroot remoulade, micro herbs and caper dill butter

The Farmer -- Hop Thief American Ale
Yarra Valley mushroom terrine, semi-dried tomato mousse, pickled asparagus, parsnip cream

The Free Man -- Nine Tales Amber Ale
Central Victoria veal tenderloin wrapped in streaky bacon, Dauphinoise potatoes, baby carrots, roasted cherry tomatoes & port wine jus

The Brewer -- Jack of Spades Porter
Rum & chocolate mousse, cherry compote, salted caramel pearls
