Malvern/Commercial Road is quickly establishing itself as one of Melbourne's great wine roads, with Wine Bars: The Alps, Toorak Cellars and Milton Wine Shop keeping travellers hydrated for the last 8 years with wines that speak of a place and time.
Last year saw the celebration of Burgundy's great wine road: The RN74.
Join us this year as we re-enact the Great West-East Journey along the Loire river to discover the wines of Frances's Loire Valley!
Starting at The Alps Wine Shop, travellers will commence the day drinking the wines of Muscadet, the wine region near the city of Nantes where the Loire River meets the Atlantic.
We will then trace the Eastern Journey by Tram and 'by glass', arriving at Toorak Cellars to Drink the wines of the middle Loire Regions of Anjou and Touraine.
We will then be guided back onto the tram by our day's conductor/celebrity importer to finish at Milton Wine Shop, where we will complete the East West tasting of the Loire Valley with wines from Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume.
Regional food matches will feature at each stop!
