Kate Reid

The woman behind what’s been declared as possibly the world’s best croissant may not need any introduction. But then not many people have as great a backstory as Kate Reid of Lune Croissanterie. The pastry chef started her career in Formula One, working as an aerodynamicist for the Williams team, before she fell in love with the pastries of Paris’ famed patisseries and decided she wanted to spend her days folding, rolling and proving dough. Turns out engineering is a solid foundation for a career in precision pastries – Lune’s two Melbourne stores boast near-constant queues and frequently sell out of Reid’s creations.
