Festival, helicopters and Vue De Monde

It’s not every weekend that you get flown to Melbourne, chauffeured, pampered, and whisked off to gastronomic delights.

We caught up with Kylie, the lucky winner of the Hostplus Escape Prize Package to find out how her decadent weekend in Melbourne went. It also happened to coincide with her first wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have timed it better!

Day 1
We were picked up at the airport by our chauffer Theo. He was dressed to the nines, had first-class tour guide knowledge, and a Mercedes to match.

Arriving at the Langham we were greeted with a welcoming smile. I was amazed by the chandeliers and marble water features, it took my breath away. This is only how I imagined millionaires would live!

The welcoming smiles did not stop there. We then arrived at Saint Crispin's pop up at the St Kilda Bowls Club, and were greeted with a pimms cocktail. A bowls lesson followed and then we enjoyed a  5-course dinner with drinks to match (highlights include wagyu beef and a cold tomato “pho” ).

Day 2
The following night we dined at Vue De Monde. Working in hospitality most of my life I was mesmerized. While the food was amazing, I equally enjoyed watching the staff work together like a well-oiled machine. It wasn't just a meal, it was an experience.

Day 3
However, the best was still to come...
The next day we flew by private helicopter to
Yering Station where we were greeted with two glasses of my favourite Yarrabank sparkling We were treated to a private tour of the winery and wine tasting. As a bonafide seafood lover the food at Yering station Wine Bar Restaurant was outstanding with blue swimmer crabs and Morton Bay bugs on the menu. I was in food heaven. It’s a weekend we will never forget.
