Foodie’s gold in the Goldfields

Although Goldfields boast a rich Gold Rush history, the region’s history of food and wine grows deep in its veins. The sheltered valleys grow juicy stone fruit, crisp apples and pears, crushed for traditional cider. Nearby grow pinot and viognier vines, while the hard granite country yields benchmark shiraz, a perfect drop to help celebrate local prime beef, lamb and pork.

This Regional Weekend (15-17 March), you can experience a range of events, including:

-          Regional World’s Longets Lunch, Moonambel

-          Gold Fields Terroir

-          The Art of Craft Brewing

-          Picnic in the Paddock

-          Picnic in the Vines

Whilst you’re in the region, be sure to visit Central Deborah Goldmine, an authentic historic attraction which takes you on a journey to the depths of what makes Bendigo so famous for it’s Gold Rush era. Download the Goldfields Regional Weekend itineraryhere.
