Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre’s Plenary Lawn will play temporary home to Melbourne’s favourite food trucks, assembling food for the masses this weekend.
Supported by IVECO Trucks Australia, Festival-goers will be free to stop by for a pick-me-up all weekend long from a wide variety of cuisines including Beatbox Kitchen, Mijen61 Coffee Truck, Greek Street Food, and Let's Do Yum Cha and more. See the full line up.
Considering creating your own food truck?
Read on to hear the story of how Mijen's Mochas 'n' Munchies was born after Michael and Jennie Coombe combined their first names - and their love of coffee.
Although many would have settled for a simple mobile coffee van, the couple’s plans soon grew along with their desire to provide customers with a much broader range of wares.
Before long, their equipment wish-list included a coffee machine, large drinks fridge, refrigerated display case for sweets and gourmet sandwiches, a microwave oven, pie warmer, frappe machine, steamer and workbenches.
To carry their ambitions – and equipment – Michael and Jennie purchased one of the largest vans available, an Iveco Daily 50C17. With a cargo area of 17m³, the cavernous space is all that they’ll ever need to keep truckin’.
Make sure you come down and say "hi" to Michael and Jennie in Mijen’s Mochas 'n' Munchies over the weekend!
