Five events for the beer buff

If you’re a homebrewer from way back and you relish the latest drop of craft brews at your local bottle-shop, indulge your beer obsession further with one of these events at the 2019 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, presented by Bank of Melbourne. And stay tuned for more hop-heavy events in our second release on 30 January.

Surf Coast BBQ Block Party

Anglesea restaurant Captain Moonlite plays host to this barbecue bash, where the crew from Blackman’s Brewery will pour their best brews all afternoon while you feast on the smoky creations from a collaboration between Fancy Hanks, Restaurant Igni and, all the way from North Carolina, Elliot Moss of Buxton Hall Barbecue. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Regional World’s Longest Lunch Echuca

Unwind on a Friday afternoon along the banks of the Murray River with locally crafted beers and Heathcote wines. The Echuca region’s farming, indigenous and artistic communities will be celebrated with a grazing-style menu of local saltbush lamb, river herbs and produce grilled over a red gum fire.

Grazing in the Greenhouse

Yarra Valley brewery Hargreaves Hill is the star of the show at this leisurely lunch served in the greenhouse at Yarra Valley Gourmet Foods in Seville. Start the day picking seasonal produce from the orchard, then let the team guide you through the process of turning it into a take-home condiment before you sit down to lunch.

Barwon Heads Beach Bash

Is there anything more relaxing than sinking your toes into the sand with a beer in your hand? Be sure to clear your diary for this afternoon by the ocean in Barwon Heads, featuring brews by Blackman’s Brewery and wine from Oakdene Vineyards to complement a menu of regional produce and the freshest seafood.

Rhythm and Booze

Get a taste of old-school southern hospitality at Echuca’s American Hotel. The team will put on an all-American barbecue bash, with Echuca's local craft breweries pouring their best beers and offset smokers bringing a taste of the Old South to Victoria’s deep north.
