Arriving just in time for our long, hot Australian summer is a little piece of Italy – Sanpellegrino’s new summer flavours.
A refreshing Melograno e Arancia (pomegranate and orange) and a tangy Clementina (clementine) are new additions to the collection of sparkling citrusy beverages. They join Aranciata (Orange), Limonata (Lemon), Pompelmo (Grapefruit), Aranciata Rossa (Blood Orange) and Chinotto in light-weight aluminium cans that just beg to be sipped while sitting on the beach or added to a picnic basket.
The citrus note of the new flavours are also wonderful additions to an Australian Christmas lunch. Citrus and seafood – a match made in heaven.
Our friends at Sanpellegrino have given us a couple of recipes from their collection to dress up their new flavours for your Christmas or New Year’s Eve feast.
This rose tinted mocktail balances sweet apple and tart grapefruit and is a perfect addition to Christmas lunch.
Fill a large, sturdy glass (400 ml capacity), with ice cubes. Pour in the apple and pink grapefruit juice and top up with Sanpellegrino Melograno e Arancia. Combine by stirring gently with a bar spoon. Garnish with fresh mint and a slice of dehydrated apple.
If you are over the age of 18, the Mellow Melograno can be heightened into an alcoholic drink by adding 1 oz/30 ml of chilli vodka
Refreshing and deeply aromatic, this golden cocktail uses honey and spice to balance out the bitterness of bergamot organges.
In the bottom of a sturdy, large glass (400 ml capacity), pour in the Bergamot juice and honey syrup. Stir well to combine using a bar spoon and fill to the top with ice cubes. Top up with Sanpellegrino Clementina, and for an added touch, garnish with star anise.
If you are over the age of 18, Clementina Dream can be transformed into an alcoholic drink by adding 1 oz/30 ml of dark rum.
