Top five beer events of the Fest

It wouldn't be summer without a good, cold brew.

We've put together our picks from the Fest that celebrate the art of craft.

Top five beer events:

1. THE JOURNEY OF BEER
Date: Thursday 10 & Saturday 12 March
Venue: Beer De Luxe, Federation Square 

Beer De Luxe, Australia’s leading beer institutions along with two of their experts will take you through the evolution, advancement and characteristics of beer. It gets better though! Served for you, will be four mouth-watering courses paired with four beers from around the globe.

2. BEER HUB
Date: Friday 4 - Sunday 6 March
Venue: South Wharf  

This free event is one not to be missed. Starting from masterclasses on learning about different brews. To trying and buying, locally and internationally crafted brews. To complete the experience there will be plenty of entertainment and bites from locally sourced Victorian produce.

3. BREWED LOCALLY, BUILT BY LOCALS
Date: Sunday 5 March
Venue: Two Birds Brewing, Spotswood 

Who said beer is a bloke’s drink? Two Birds Brewing is Australia’s first female-owned & operated brewery. Be involved in the launch of the new ‘west side beer’ and exhibit work by the west’s best local artists and craftsmen.

4. TRANS-TASMAN: BEER VS. BUBBLES
Date: Wednesday 9 March
Venue: Two Ton Max, North Melbourne  

Witness the Aussies verse the Kiwis to whip up some great food at the sensitevely renovated, Two Ton Max. Each meal will be complimented with a glass of wine or beer. Leaving the guests to be the judge, you get to choose who you think is the winner.

5. BREWS & EATS
Date: Monday 7 March
Venue: The Merrywell Upstairs, Southbank 

Let the brew master teach you how to match your beer to your food. With traditionally brewed craft beers, locally sourced products and those Merrywell classics, you won’t be wanting to leave.
