We’re throwing open the doors to our new home for the 10 days of the Festival. Welcome to The House of Food & Wine.
Tucked down a laneway in Melbourne’s CBD, the House bar and gallery will be open every night and day of the Festival, alongside a set of special events.
The bar will be the perfect place to stop by and get a taste of the Festival. No two days will be the same with a "growing" exhibition by artist-in-residence Anna Vu, of Good Food Crap Drawing fame, different events every night, and some special -one-off wine bottles opened every day.
The menu is inspired by MasterClasses past and designed by chef Morgan McGlone. The exclusively Victorian wine list is curated by all-star team Mark protheroe, Leannae Altmann and Sebastian Crowther.

Come get a sneak peek at our new place. There’s an amazing menu created by chef Morgan McGlone and, of course, an extensive drink list. This is one house party you won’t want to miss.
While tasting dishes such as smoked wagyu inspired by Bertrand Grebaut from Paris or Enrique Oliveira's charred bean tamales from Mexico City, you'll be free to wander through our house. Come explore all the nooks and crannies from the front bar to the upstairs gallery, and even the laneway garden out the back.

Italo Dining & Disco Club
Maurice Terzini and Giovanni Paradiso are blurring the lines between restaurant, bar and club and bringing their genius to our street for a dining experience like no other. It will take the form of an Italian-style street party in our House of Food and Wine laneway, with iconic Italian dishes and wine flowing.
Come revel in where it all began with a modern interpretation of some classic fare, combining the talents of all five kitchens to deliver a series of Italian classics all night long.

Monday Family Dinner
The most sought-after dinner invitation in Sydney is not a three-hatted restaurant, it’s Monday night at Angie Hong’s place. #mondayfamilydinner even has its own hashtag with many a visiting chef pulling up a seat at the Hong's house.
Chefs Dan Hong and his mother Angie are going to plate up some treasured family recipes alongside other hositality families from across Australia. There's a lovely sentiment behind this event, from celebrating the different ways that cultures celebrate food. It will be a rare chance to eat authentic family recipes - the kind of thing that chefs cook at home for the ones they love.

A Taste of the Ocean
A rollicking seafood feast hosted by seafood-guru and author John Susman, and in his words: this isn't just another dinner. It will be a fin to tail affair celebrating all things sustainable, hand dived and wild caught.
John will be joined by chefs Josh Niland (Saint Peter, Sydney), Brent Savage (Cirrus, Sydney) and Ben Williamson (Gerard’s Bistro, Brisbane) for a delicious part laneway party, part communal banquet to taste and sample with wines to match. Prepare to get a little messy (bibs are provided).

Rootstock Sydney x MFWF
For the first time, Mike Bennie, Giorgio De Maria, and James Hird will be distilling their two-day event into one, fun-filled night. Rootstock Sydney is coming to Melbourne for an all-out party of natural wine, sustainable seafood, and artisan drinks.
No matter what your wine knowledge, you’re guaranteed to learn a lot, taste something you’ve never tried before, all while you have a good time.

Burger Block Party
To wrap up our 25th Festival, we’re bringing together Australia’s best burger joints for our closing party. Sydney’s Mary’s Burgers, Perth’s Short Order Burger Co, and Hobart’s The Standard will join Melbourne’s Casey Wall from Rockwell & Sons and Raph Rashid from Beatbox Kitchen.
