Sydney Restaurateurs Maurice Terzini (Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, Dolphin Hotel, Da Orazio Pizza + Porchetta) and Giovanni Paradiso (Fratelli Paradiso, 10 William Street) are bringing Italo Dining & Disco Club to Melbourne for the very first time.
“We love great music, we love good drinks and we want to eat well,” Giovanni Paradiso adds. “We wanted to bring this all together.”
Italo Dining & Disco Club is exactly what it sounds like – a party which combines Italian food, drinks and banging disco music, without sacrifice. The boys are throwing an Italian-style street party in our laneway, with tunes all through the night as local Melbourne DJs go head-to-head in the suburban garage Italian street festival, led by iconic DJ Andee Frost with his distinctive disco beats going all night.
Combining the talent of their five kitchens, except a series of classic like fried polenta with anchovy and horseradish, baked pasta stuffed with ragu, “backyard” pizza, porchetta paninis and chunks of chilled watermelon topped with citrus sherbet.
Free-flowing drinks are an Italo Dining standard, with Rosso Antico, Cynar, spritzes, and Victorian winemaker Owen Latta providing some amazing still-fermenting wine and a freestyle rosé blend on the night.
The freestyle rosé consists of a blend between the classic Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir with no other additives, making it completely pure and absolutely delicious. His wines are all made in a similar way, without any additions, allowing flavours to occur naturally and authentically.
As Giovanni Paradiso says, “every element is integral to the whole experience". You can be sure that the night will be in total synergy, with a combination of amazing food, delicious wines and great live entertainment all night long.
