Winter shopping list

Our friends at Victorian Farmers’ Markets Association (VFMA) share their guide to what’s in season - perfect for planning a winter feast. 

Fruit
Apples, cumquats, grapefruit, lemons, limes, mandarins, nashi, oranges, passionfruit, pears, persimmons, rhubarb, tamarillos and tangelos.

Nuts
Chestnuts, hazelnuts and walnuts.
 
Vegetables
Asian greens, artichokes, beetroot, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbages, cauliflower, carrots, celery, celeriac, daikon, fennel, Jerusalem artichokes, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuces, olives, onions, parsnips, potatoes, pumpkins, shallots, silverbeet, spinach, spring onions, swedes and turnips.

Herbs
Bay leaf, parsley, mint, rosemary, thyme, chives, oregano, marjoram, sage, bronze fennel, dill, witlof and coriander.
