MEDIA UPDATE | 9 March 2019
Melbourne Food & Wine Festival has made the decision to postpone The Village Feast at Jindivick from Saturday 16 March to Saturday 30 March. This decision has been made following the recent bushfire that has affected the local community and by postponing The Village Feast, we are confident more of the community will be able to participate in and benefit from the event.
Melbourne Food & Wine Festival apologises for any inconvenience caused by the postponement of the event.
Our thoughts are with all who have been affected by the fires, and ten per cent of new ticket sales for The Village Feast will be donated to Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund. Melbourne Food & Wine Festival will also launch an appeal led by chef Alejandro Saravia (Farmer’s Daughters and Pastuso) to support Gippsland at River Graze, the popular event which sees the south bank of the Yarra River transformed into a food and wine lover’s playground from 22-24 March.
We look forward to showcasing the world class produce and food and wine experiences of Gippsland at The Village Feast in Jindivick on Saturday 30 March while, most importantly, supporting its community during this challenging time. Until then, the large majority of Gippsland is unaffected by fires and is welcoming visitors. Plan your trip to Gippsland here and stay up to date and connected with fire information here.
The full Village Feast program will be released later this week.
We promise we’ll only send you things you want to read.
