5 Gamon St
Seddon, 3011

Oh Seddon, is there anything you can’t do? Pre-eminently liveable and brimming with ace cafés, excellent bars and head-turning restaurants, you are the suburb that does it all.

Think of this Wander as a greatest-hits sampler, a celebration of the village vibe and neighbourly spirit that made Seddon a western delight. First stop is Luxsmith, one of the city’s favourite pan-Asian eateries, for chicken and prawn dumplings and Penang brisket curry.

Next up is Mona Castle Hotel, a true neighbourhood watering hole with a Victorian-heavy drinks list and a Moreton bay bug roll of much repute. We're going to eat that roll as a part of a platter that also features fancy dim sims and arancini, and we're also going to enter and potentially win the locals' meat tray raffle before we leave.

After that, we’ll slide through the unmarked door and into Lay Low Bar, quite possibly the most polished watering hole in the 3011, for cocktails and mezze courtesy of local Greek legends, The Brotherhood. What a night.
