Enoteca Sileno

920 Lygon St
Carlton North, 3054

Enoteca Sileno is the oldest Italian food and wine importer in Melbourne, founded in 1953. With a welcome drink in hand, join co-custodian John Portelli on a guided tour of some of Italy's most renowned products and learn about choosing the perfect rice for your risotto, how to prepare the perfect pasta, the importance of the right salt, and selecting a sugo.

You’ll then be seated to experience a gastronomic giro d’Italia, a six-course adventure in pasta. From the north to the south, you’ll discover traditional shapes and styles, the stories and heritage of the pasta, and how each shape is paired with the perfect sauce. For participants who opt to include wine matches, each regional speciality will be paired with a wine from the same area.

Former Enoteca head chef Antony Campbell is coming back for one night only to host the evening in a special event presented in collaboration with Al Dente Enoteca, and Per Sempre Dolce.

You’ll leave with a gift bag of recipe cards, pasta, wine and essential condiments so you can continue your Italian journey at home.
