Be transported back to 1987, to a magnificent ballroom in a guesthouse in Maffra, when young chef Martin Van-Ooyen and his wife, Michelle Pugsley, moved from the big smoke and introduced Gippsland to something extraordinary. This one-time event showcases Gippsland's finest produce and wines in a menu from Powerscourt Country House circa 1987.

At the tender age of 11, Jason Jones began his hospitality journey as pianist at the magnificently restored and 'well before its time' Powerscourt Country House in Maffra, Gippsland. From his time at the keyboard, to learning the ropes on the floor and later in the kitchen, he watched this homestead, under proprietor-chef Martin Van-Ooyen, go on to become one of Gippsland's most awarded and celebrated restaurants. Join Jason Jones – now restaurateur Mr Jones of Prahran-meets-Paris hotspot Entrecôte – for a reprise of this incredible journey, featuring a menu based on the dishes served at Powerscourt in 1987, along with Gippsland wines.
