MFWF COVID Safe Information

A robust and thorough COVIDSafe Plan is in place for MFWF's Winter Edition 2021 in accordance with the Victorian Government’s Public Events Framework. We work with the Department of Health and other agencies to ensure that all aspects of your event experience are consistent with public health expectations. 

We ask that you do not attend any MFWF events if you feel unwell, are awaiting the results of a COVID test or have visited a red zone in the last 14 days.

Events at Queen Victoria Market

At all MFWF events we will be implementing the following COVID Safety measures in accordance with the Victorian Government’s Public Events Framework.

  • All attendees will be required to check-in with the Services Victoria app at one of two entry points, this applies for both ticketed and free events
  • The event space managed capacity will be in line with Government guidelines
  • Once the capacity is reached, a managed queue will be in place, incorporating physical distancing measures
  • Mask-wearing for staff and attendees will be in line with government requirements,
  • Hand-sanitising stations will be placed throughout the site
  • Enhanced hygiene practices across the event site including at activations, tasting areas, amenities and back-of-house spaces
  • Queue management at food and drink outlets and amenities at amenities and pick-up zones
  • COVID Marshals at a ratio of one per 200 attendees Safety Managers in place throughout events – the role of the Marshalls is to assist with distancing requirements and the implementation of the covid safety measures to ensure measures are being implemented
  • First aid provider at all QVM events to have completed Victorian Government approved COVIDSafe training
  • All events are cashless and all attendees will have the option to use the Mr Yum app for contactless ordering and collection of food and drink within the event

Crawl and Bite program

  • All venues to have a COVIDSafe Plan in place, including adhering to the density, capacity and physical distancing regulations in place for hospitality at the time of the event
  • A health message notification will be emailed four days prior to the event start to the person that made the booking, reminding ticketholders not to attend if they feel unwell, are awaiting the results of a COVID test or have visited a red zone in the last 14 days
  • Crawl hosts to provide a COVIDSafe briefing to attendees at the start of the Crawl
  • QR code check-in for all attendees at the start of the Crawl. Details will be retained for 28 days for contact-tracing purposes, then destroyed
  • Hand-sanitiser provided by host throughout

Special Events

  • All venues to have a COVID SafePlan in place, including adhering to the density, capacity and physical distancing regulations in place for hospitality at the time of the event
  • A health message notification will be emailed four days prior to the event start to the person that made the booking, reminding ticketholders not to attend if they feel unwell, are awaiting the results of a COVID test or have visited a red zone in the last 14 days
  • QR code check-in for all attendees. Details will be retained for 28 days for contact-tracing purposes, then destroyed

Chef Series program

High Steaks program

  • All venues to have a COVIDSafe Plan in place, including adhering to the density, capacity and physical distancing regulations in place for hospitality at the time of the event
  • A health message notification will be emailed four days prior to the event start to the person that made the booking, reminding ticketholders not to attend if they feel unwell, are awaiting the results of a COVID test or have visited a red zone in the last 14 days
  • QR code check-in for all attendees. Details will be retained for 28 days for contact-tracing purposes, then destroyed
