The most-talked about new restaurant in Australia and one of Melbourne’s most cutting-edge kitchens is the high-gloss setting for a meeting of six of Victoria’s most interesting new culinary minds as Society plays host to 30 Under 30. Join us upstairs in the superb East Room, a salon seating 50, to get to know our talent a little better.
From the Lucas Restaurants home team, you’ll see dishes from Society sous chef Kimberly Tang, a graduate of the kitchens at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and Nobu who took out the title of Nestle Golden Chef in 2021, and Roc Lee, a Hawker Hall chef with a passion for the power of Chinese cuisine.
Two Hannahs join Kimberly and Roc in the kitchen for 30 Under 30: Anchovy sous chef Hannah Cox, whose credits include Yellow and Cirrus in Sydney, as well as feted Mexico City restaurant Quintonil; and Hannah Watt, sous chef at Bellota whose previous kitchens include Noir, Woodland House, Omnia and Annam. Completing the crew are two chefs from the pastry end of the business: Carina La Delfa, baker and pâtissier at Tommy Collins and Hamptons Bakery, soon to be opening a business of her own, and HyoJu Park, a chef who cut her teeth in London before returning home to cook at celebrated Seoul two-star Mingles, and now heads the pastry section at Attica.
Formidable? Certainly. Delicious? Definitely.
