30 Under 30 Gala Dinner - SOLD OUT

Celebrating 30 years of MFWF with 30 of Victoria’s best young chefs

The 30 Under 30 Gala Dinner brings together 30 of the most promising young chefs from around Victoria to celebrate Melbourne Food & Wine Festival’s 30th anniversary with a showcase of up-and-coming talent like you’ve never seen before.

For one night only, the Plaza Ballroom plays host to a spectacular feast, with chefs from Attica, Vue de Monde, Gimlet, Matilda 159, Stokehouse, Amaru, Provenance, Society, Aru and Igni, as more than two dozen of Victoria’s very best places to eat join together to present 30 dishes of their own creation.

Before the idea of being held hostage at the table for 30 courses unsettles you, we want to make it clear: that’s not the way this night is designed. This is a party, after all, so the first 10 dishes are served cocktail party-style, with the food presented by tray service and from stations around the grand room. Main courses are served family-style, laid on the table to share, and desserts are served across both the table to share, and around the room. It’s not about excess or endurance – it's all about inspiration, adventure and the pleasure of discovery.

There’s no better place to taste the future today than right here.

Our 30 chefs under 30 are: Audrey Allard (Holy Sugar), Hugh Allen (Vue de Monde), Ellie Bouhadana (Hope St Radio), Anneliese Brancatisano (Hector’s Deli), Pieter Buijsse (Pt Leo Estate), Charlie Carrington (Atlas Dining), Elijah Chen (Matilda 159), Hannah Cox (Anchovy), Zackary Furst (Bar Liberty), James Grant (Cumulus Inc), Mitch Haag (Hazel), Hannah Holleran (Gimlet), Vyvyan Huynh (Stokehouse), Bianca Johnston (Igni), Rosheen Kaul (Etta), Carina La Delfa (Tommy Collins), Roc Lee (Hawker Hall), Giorgia McAllister Forte (Monforte Patisserie), Anthony Nguyen (Aru), Harvey Noy (Embla), Javier Ortiz (Smith St Bistrot), HyoJu Park (Attica), Niko Pasieka (Maha Bar), Nagesh Seethiah (Manzé), Kimberly Tang (Society), Cam Tay-Yap (Amaru), Victoria Tesson (Provenance), Anthony Tran (Freyja), Hannah Watt (Bellota), and Joane Yeoh (Coda).

Drinks for the night are included and have been chosen in consultation with a panel of under-30 Victorian sommeliers and bar managers, led by Alice Diffey (Gerald's Bar), Michael Hegarty (The Recreation), and Claudelle Savannah (Public Wine Shop).

Regrettably the format of this event does not allow us to accommodate dietary requirements, food allergies or other changes to the menu.
