Curious about Filipino Food? Let chefs Chad and Chase Valencia of renowned Los Angeles restaurant Lasa cook for you in collaboration with Rice Paper Sister chef Ross Magnaye in a one-off event celebrating the rising stars of modern Filipino cuisine.
Lasa, meaning "taste" or "flavour" in Tagalog, was named a Food & Wine Restaurant of the Year in 2018. It's a Filipino-inspired, California-influenced restaurant open for brunch and dinner in Los Angeles' Chinatown. Ross Magnaye runs up-and-coming Filipino-fusion venue Rice Paper Sister in Melbourne CBD, one to watch in 2019 with a growing following of Filipinos and Melburnians alike, taking a prominent spot in Melbourne's favourite food laneway, Hardware Lane.
"King of collabs", Ross's mission to share the unique flavours of Filipino food with the world has seen him headline several pop-up events in Sydney, Bali, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan and LA among other locations. Drawing on their Filipino heritage, these culinary stars will co-create an exclusive menu, providing the entree for festival-goers to immerse themselves in the Philippines' rich culinary heritage via this unique gastronomical celebration.
