Join chef Juanito Berbeo and his brother Sebastián on a journey through their childhood growing up in Colombia, and the dishes that still inspire them today.
Get ready for smoky slow-cooked meats, crunchy empanadas, punchy ceviche and plenty of aguardiente.
“My menu for the event will be a mix of my favourite dishes along with some of Berbeo Bros signatures,” says Juanito. “We’ll begin with encocado de mariscos, which is a mix of char-grilled seafood in a coconut sauce with plantain chips, and chicken empanadas before moving onto Berbeo's famous Lechona.” Carne a la Llanera, featuring a topside from Sher Wagyu cooked over charcoal, stars as the main course, served with sides, and then for dessert it’s leche asada, the classic caramel flan.
“I wanted this event to tell a story of me and my brother Sebastián's childhood and our journey coming to Australia together, the experiences we had, the food we loved and everything that inspired us to open Berbeo Bros,” says Juanito. “For every dish there is a memory and a story, and we hope that this event will be a new cultural experience for our guests while we are unable to travel the world in person.”
