Join The Thick Accents table for a full-flavoured and full-throttle brunch à la Tel Aviv. Think hearty shakshuka accompanied with a “spicy plate” made of tahini, fermented red chilli, green Schug and charred green chilli Served with challah, Chicken liver pate with shmaltz served with sourdough crackers and Moroccan jam, Crispy Latke & cured salmon, horseradish sour cream and a one-of-a-kind babka created just for the event.
The brunch is the latest from The Thick Accents project, an exuberant, unapologetic celebration of the contributions of migrant women to hospitality. Launched early in 2021, Thick Accents is the brainchild of Ilanit Bard, a former general manager of Lûmé restaurant who now consults and trains as SOiGNé Hospitality, and of Miznon alumna Einat Halfon, who led Miznon’s Dark Mofo Winter Feast in 2019. For this brunch, Ilanit and Einat are teaming up with Avi Azoulay, a former Miznon chef whose baking under the Babka Boi brand was one of the good-news stories of last year’s lockdowns.
