Sidle up to fine food and barrels of some of the city's finest malts in a celebration of Melbourne's love of cocktail spirit.

Melbourne Cocktail Festival has arrived - highlighting the bars, bartenders, suppliers and makers that help to make our city’s nightlife worldclass. Festivities kick off on 12 April, with a week's worth of booze-fueled events celebrating Melbourne’s cocktail culture.

The showstopper for the festival may well be the closing party. It sees the worlds of Victorian food and whisky come together in a very tasty way. Join in the fun as Charley Snadden-Wilson, chef of The Moon Wine Bar, takes over Starward’s Port Melbourne distillery.

"Sitting down for a long lunch surrounded by Starward whisky barrels with 70 other cocktail lovers feels like the perfect way to cap off this year's Melbourne Cocktail Festival while celebrating Melbourne's world-class hospitality scene," says MCF's Tim Varney.

Admission gets you a cocktail on arrival, along with a set menu that champions Victorian produce in dishes such as pain perdu with ham and mustard, braised duck with brassicas and jus gras and whisky caramel, chocolate crémeux and honeycomb. Australian DJ duo Wax’o Paradiso will be setting the vibe and whisky cocktail pairings by Starward and Capi will be available at the bar.
