Who are you and what are you all about?
We’re incredibly fortunate to run Worksmith and the Melbourne Cocktail Festival. Through these companies, we get to work with some of the most talented bartenders and producers in Australia, if not the world. Home Grown came about as a collaboration between ourselves, our close friends Sebastian Reaburn (Grainshaker, Ned Whisky), Dervilla McGowan (Anther Gin), Brendan Carter (Okar) and the team behind the Fancy Free pop-up and Side Hustle. Together we’ve created a range of interesting, approachable flavours that do justice to these spirits while supporting local Australian talent.
Great cocktails are hard to make. We know all too well that a great spirit can’t save a woeful cocktail, either. We’re on a mission to ensure no one has to buy, make or drink a terrible cocktail again.
Give us the elevator pitch, what’s Home Grown all about?
We collaborate with great Australian-branded spirits and talented bartenders to create delicious cocktails that are ready-mixed, straight out of the bottle and keg. We’re here to service a growing demand for ready-to-serve drinks, guiding people towards supporting local Australian craft spirits. Our range of pre-mixed cocktails includes a refreshing Strawberry and River Mint Spritz, suburban milkbar-inspired Creamy Soda Highball, and a Ginger and Mango Spritz reminiscent of summer.
Explain like we’re five, how do you make it?
We take selected Australian spirits and mix them with a unique selection of aromatics, flavours, acids, sugars, and teas, and carbonate them to give a lovely fizz. This creates a flavoursome cocktail that is ready to serve - just pour over ice and garnish. Our Strawberry and River Mint Spritz uses three different strawberry flavours and strawberry concentrate as a base to achieve a signature flavour that you wouldn’t be able to recreate at home.
What excites you about this project?
Home Grown is the first ready-to-serve liquor brand that we feel does justice to the Australian spirits who put their names to our bottles. It’s a format and flavour profile that’s unique in the market yet totally approachable. We’re not an exclusive brand, we're inclusive. If Home Grown is successful, we’ll get more Australians drinking Australian spirits and we’ll grow the hell out of our brilliant craft spirits industry.
What are the perfect conditions to enjoy Home Grown?
It’s a sunny Saturday afternoon in Edinburgh Gardens and you're catching up with the crew who you haven’t seen in ages. Your dog’s tugging on the leash in one hand and you have a well-iced glass of Home Grown in the other.
Is it here for a good time or a long time?
Forever. Home Grown is going to be the brand you think of when you want a delicious cocktail made with Australian spirits. New releases and collaborations will be frequent and you will be hanging out for new drops while enjoying your staple favourites.

We’re just getting started but we’re already in Stomping Ground and Pipis Kiosk.
