Not sure what you're doing this weekend? The 2019 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival kicks off on Friday 8 March and, as always, there is so much to do - from cooking classes to days of wine and cheese and beyond. Here's the rundown of the next few days at the Festival.


A Journey through Piedmont

Get ready for regional flavours and world-renowned wines as Bottega goes deep into Italy’s Piedmont region, with a menu bursting with the bold flavours of the north-western region and matched with wine pairings by Ben Knight.


Vegan Smokehouse BBQ Collaboration

Le Bon Ton joins forces with vegan staple Green Burger for a feast of classic slow-smoked American barbecue turned vegan. From pulled pork and mac n cheese to fried chicken and more, the team will serve up the best plant-based interpretations of smokehouse favourites.

Wine and Cheese Fest

You’re invited to a gathering of Victoria’s best wine, cheese and artisan producers! Enjoy the view of the bays at a seaside warehouse in Williamstown with free food tastings, wine and cheese masterclasses and live entertainment for a true celebration of the senses.


The House of Food and Wine Day 2

Food trucks. Rosé tastings. Pop-up bars. Chef demonstrations. It’s a jam-packed program at The House of Food and Wine, with personalities from across the globe appearing in masterclasses, workshops and panels discussing the hot topics in hospitality.

Exciting Wine-Paired Cheese Cooking Class

Join the ultimate cheese-inspired cooking class at Melbourne’s much-loved Spice Bazaar Cooking School and prepare a six-course feast with a menu curated by the team, paired with Italian wines from Politini King Valley Wines.

Relive the glory days of the 90s at Merrywell Bar and Dining as Huxtaburger’s Daniel Wilson and Blake’s Andrew Blake team up for an afternoon of 90s RnB classics, theme-appropriate cocktails and a four-course Modern Australian menu

Get out the picnic blanket and crack open the basket for a picnic in the Gasworks Arts Park. Featuring some of the best upcoming local musicians, the picturesque Glade will help you unwind on a sunny Sunday afternoon with locally sourced cheeses and wine from the Farmers Market.

Sit back, sip on a cocktail or wine and watch the sun go down as you take in extraordinary views of Melbourne like never seen before and cruise luxuriously along the Bay aboard the MV Pearl, with a canapé-style menu prepared by Stokehouse’s Ollie Hansford.

A Slice of Spice

Experience the flavour explosion of wood-fired Neapolitan pizza topped with an array of aromatic curries and Indian spices as Johnny Di Francesco from 400 Gradi and Jessi Singh of Horn Please, Babu Ji NYC and Don't Tell Aunty fame join forces to create the perfect Indian-Italian cross-cultural marriage.

Melbourne staple Gingerboy is celebrating 12 years with a throwback Tuesday banquet comprised of signature dishes from over the years. A bit of the old, a bit of the new and never without an amazing array of cocktails highlighting the flavours

Thinking about dessert for dinner? The Press Club’s development kitchen Press Club - Projects is at it again with a pop-up takeover inspired by the loukoumades bars of Athens.
