The ever-popular Smith Street bakery’s second branch opens on Langridge Street next month.

It’s looking like a bumper year for fans of bakes and cakes in Melbourne, and if you happen to live in or near Collingwood, you may be pleased to learn that your neighbourhood will soon be home to not one but two Falco stores.

Opened in 2019 by baker Christine Tran and fellow co-owners Michael Bascetta, Manu Potoi and Casey Wall (aka The Bar Liberty/Capitano guys), Falco became a near-instant hit, thanks in no small part to its excellent bread, coffee from Stella, a snappy retail edit and an inventive menu of sweet and savoury pies, scrolls, and Danishes, some killer sandwiches, and of course, the mighty peanut butter and miso cookie.

These favourites will all be available at the new Langridge Street location when it opens in February, along with an expanded range of savoury options, including filled bagels.

‘The new Falco space has been a long time coming, but fitting out a production space has had its challenges,” says Michael Bascetta. “This will give us more scope to create new baked goods, while increasing the production of the most sought-after items.”

Falco’s new store opens in February at 156-158 Langridge St, Collingwood, falcobakery.com@falcobakery
