Perry’s has been open in one form or another since 1847. It’s seen some things in 174 years on Smith Street, at one point competing directly with Squizzy Taylor during the third-banana Underbelly crook’s days as a booze racketeer.
Gladly, it’s now in the hands of siblings Jessica and Paul Ghaie, who you might know as the founders of Blackhearts & Sparrows. In keeping with Blackhearts’ eye for design and passion for good drinking, the couple has converted the historic address into a gorgeous private events space for your next party, shoot or clandestine catch-up.
Between a dancefloor, bar, dining room and courtyard, there’s enough room here to legally host 100 people until 1am. Booze is catered, naturally, by Blackhearts, with two-hour packages available from $40 per person and hourly extensions from $11.
It’s very nice. Would be a real shame to not have your Christmas party here.
