The idea for Voulez began in 2019, when founder Tamara Craig was living in the United States. For years, it remained just a vision – a vodka with a clean, elegant profile and a considered aesthetic. But like many ideas, it was held back by fear.
Then, in 2023, following the loss of her daughter Zoë, everything shifted. Witnessing her strength and fearlessness profoundly changed Craig’s perspective, leading to a promise to live and create with courage. Voulez was born from that promise. More than a vodka, it is an expression of resilience, intention and a way to celebrate life’s meaningful moments.
The result? An ultra-premium, small-batch spirit crafted in collaboration with Anther Distillery. Here’s Craig now with how it came together, what it tastes like and where you can get it.
Give us the elevator pitch: what makes your vodka different?
A rare blend of potato spirit and wheat distillate, redistilled to such precision that it requires no filtration. Voulez Vodka delivers exceptional purity, texture and a smooth, refined finish.
It’s designed with a softer, more feminine and elegant profile in mind, and it’s exceptionally balanced.
Who are you and what are you all about?
I’m Tamara Craig, founder of Voulez Vodka. My background is in transport manufacturing, but Voulez is my personal venture – something I began conceptualising in 2019 and brought to life more recently.
At its core, it’s about creating something intentional. Not just a product, but a brand that reflects resilience, precision and a more thoughtful way of experiencing luxury.
And how did the collaboration with Anther come together?
I was looking for a partner who shared the same commitment to quality and detail. I was very fortunate to be introduced to Sebastian Reaburn and Dr Dervilla McGowan, founders of Anther.
What stood out was not only their craftsmanship and precision-led approach to distillation, but their genuine understanding of my vision and the importance of staying true to the origins of Voulez throughout the process.
From the beginning, it felt naturally aligned – a collaboration built on trust, experimentation and a shared ambition to create something truly exceptional.
Explain like we’re five: how do you make it?
We take really high-quality locally grown potatoes and Australian wheat, we turn them into spirit, then distil it again until it becomes incredibly pure and smooth.
Because the ingredients are so good, we don’t need to filter it, which means it keeps all its natural character. The result is a vodka that feels softer, cleaner and more balanced than most.
What excites you about this project?
The fact that it’s constantly evolving. What started as just an idea has become something people can experience, interpret and connect with in their own way. Seeing it come to life in beautiful spaces, through hospitality and shared moments – that’s what makes it really exciting.
What are the perfect conditions to enjoy Voulez Vodka?
A perfectly chilled Martini – neat or on the rocks – in a beautiful glass, and somewhere with atmosphere. Think low lighting, great music and good company.
It’s about the moment as much as the drink. Considered, effortless and just a little indulgent.
Is this here for a good time or a long time?
A long time. Voulez isn’t built around trends – it’s designed to endure. The focus is on depth, not scale, and on creating something that quietly stands the test of time.
