It’s double the Jameses as Harriot chef James Kelly welcomes to Melbourne his friend and colleague James Lowe, one of the biggest movers in the London restaurant scene of the last decade.
Lowe has a remarkable background, having cooked at St John Bread & Wine, The Fat Duck and River Café, and was a member of the Young Turks supper club before he opened Lyle’s in Shoreditch in 2014, right at the moment that it went from a buzzy up-and-coming neighbourhood to one of London’s premier dining destinations.
In the 10 years that followed Lyle's was one of the most influential restaurants in the UK. In describing it as “an icon of the new wave of British dining” in a five-star review, Time Out London was typical of the reception it had from critics the world over in its 10-year run, and Flor, its spin-off at Borough Market (where James Kelly worked) was likewise a hit.
James Lowe's next project is still under wraps, but you’ll be well placed to find out what he's got cooking at these unmissable dinners. They promise a fantastic one-off menu as Lyle’s and Harriot meet, with the essential back-up of great service and a wine list you’re going to love.
