A star of the Singaporean dining scene, the first Sri Lankan chef to win a Michelin star, and the leading lights of local Sri Lankan dining come together this festival at Hopper Joint.

Hopper Joint in Prahran has well and truly carved out its place as Melbourne’s modern home of Sri Lankan dining - lively, generous, and full of spice. Dreamed up by Brahman Perera and Jason M Jones – one a restaurateur who can’t sit still, the other a designer who loves a good table as much as a good chair - Hopper has become a celebration of flavour, colour, and chaos in all the right ways.

“When we opened, we had the incredible Ronith by our side – a creative force who helped us perfect the humble hopper, now the heart and soul of the restaurant,” says Mr Jones. “Since then, he’s gone on to good things with his new Amma's brand, but for three special nights, he’s coming ‘home'.

And he’s not coming alone. Not by a long-shot. Joining him is Sri Lankan-born, Australian-trained chef Rishi Naleendra – the brilliant mind behind Singapore’s acclaimed Kotuwa and Cloudstreet, and the first Sri Lankan chef to earn a Michelin star.

Together they’ll present a four-course Sri Lankan sharing feast – vibrant short eats, elegant entrées, unlimited hoppers (of course), and a lively dessert to close. Expect cocktails on arrival, matched wines and beer throughout, and one final crafted cocktail to end the night on a high.

It will be a celebration of warmth, spice, and the stunning generosity of South Asia – all brought to life, Hopper-style. Three nights only. Unmissable.
