Rosa's Canteen
1 Little Bourke St
Melbourne, 3000
Join a long Saturday lunch celebrating real food, seasonal ingredients, and the joy of home cooking - the perfect way to mark the Melbourne launch of Elizabeth Hewson’s new book, Home Food, a perfect cookbook for imperfect cooks.
Rosa Mitchell and Elizabeth Hewson are home cooks at heart, drawn to simple, seasonal ingredients and a style of cooking that feels effortless yet thoughtful. For them, food is always about comfort and nourishment, never about performance or ego.
Rosa’s Canteen is warm, welcoming, and alive with the kind of generosity that makes you feel like you’ve walked into a friend’s kitchen. This lunch reflects that same spirit: casual, shared, family-style, and full of the flavours of the season.
The menu will bring together recipes from Elizabeth’s Home Food and Rosa’s own Sicilian-inspired cooking, shaped by beautiful Australian produce and guided by the Slow Food philosophy. The lunch will include a talk with Elizabeth and Rosa, and you'll take home a gift bag featuring a copy of Home Food, a sauce and pasta from Saturday Night Pasta, and cookies baked by Rosa.
