Here’s Wayne with what you need to know about Grange Garlic.

Wayne, what’s the story?
Everyone loves garlic. Everyone loves convenience. No one likes chemical preservatives. We create a very simple, very delicious, and very healthy ready-to-use product made with our farm-grown garlic, preserved fresh with Australian lemon juice. There is nothing else in Grange Garlic.

What does it taste like?
It tastes like freshly minced garlic. It’s as simple as that. Use it just as you would any freshly minced or crushed garlic, without the waste or effort.

How long is the shelf life?
Twelve months from the date of manufacture and it’ll last for at least four weeks after opening. It’s shelf-stable, so we can send it around Australia through Australia Post. For optimal freshness, we recommend keeping it in the fridge.

Your neck of the woods is known for wool. Why garlic?
Our farm isn’t very large, so we wanted to focus on a fairly intensive horticultural crop. Garlic is a winter crop, and we have never seen a failed winter season in this part of the western district. Garlic thrives in our soil and climate. We have spent nine years bringing this product to market, capturing the flavoursome and health-giving properties of garlic’s active compound – allicin – by adding pure natural lemon juice. We won a gold medal at the Melbourne Royal Fine Food Awards 2023.

Where can we get it?
It’s sold in almost a hundred stores across Victoria, including La Manna & Sons in Essendon and South Yarra. The Leaf Store in Elwood, Hawthorn, and Armadale also stocks it, as do some great IGAs. Have a look at my website for all the details or to order online at grangegarlic.com.au.
