As a special early release ahead of the full Festival 2015 program going on sale 21 November, we are thrilled to announce that Dan Barber, pioneering chef of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York, will present at Theatre of Ideas: In Conversation with Dan Barber on Friday 6 March 2015.
Tickets to his only appearance in Melbourne go on sale online this Thursday, 16 October at noon.
Among countless accolades, Dan has been listed in Time magazine’s 100 most influential thinkers in the world, received multiple James Beard Foundation awards, and been appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness, Sports and Nutrition. His opinion on food and agricultural policy has appeared in many publications including The New York Times.
In his first visit to Australia, Dan will intimately share his 10-year journey of writing his book, The Third Plate: Field Notes on the Future of Food. The Third Plate proposes a radical-yet-practical vision for a better, more sustainable and less damaging way to combine good farming and good food.
