They say: Say hello to our Epi-c Escargot. Inspired by the epi baguette our cheeky @eigenting used to munch down during his time at Robuchon, this scroll is made with our fluffy potato bread, mustard seed and streaky bacon with maple and honey glaze. Addictive. Sinful. You know you want it.
We say: Anything that’s inspired by the bread of Joël Robuchon gets 10 bonus points from us. Throw savoury escargot vibes into the mix and it’s clear that Melbourne’s bakeries have got welcome competition from this Camberwell newcomer. It’s the project of Eigen Ting and Josephin Tan, two chefs who have worked at the likes of Dinner by Heston, The Raffles and Shangri-La, in addition to Joël Robuchon Restaurant and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Singapore.
Sucre du Jour is open for pick-up and delivery, Tues-Sun. Pick up from the bakery at Shop 10, 436 Burke Rd, Camberwell; delivery is available to most Melbourne suburbs. sucredurjourofficial.com, @sucre.du.jour
