Whether you like it on its own, in a cocktail or with a splash of tonic, gin is the spirit on everyone’s lips. Indulge yourself in the art of distilling with one of these events at the 2019 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, presented by Bank of Melbourne. And stay tuned for more spirited events in our second program release on 30 January.

PRMITV – Charred. Flamed. Smoked.

Drops of Juniper are distilling their gin and pairing it with a six-course feast of one-off dishes at The Studio & Co. While the menu features interesting combinations like Hawkes “clay baked” potatoes and Athabaskan-style salmon, the Studio team will also serve up a special charred gin octopus on the night.

Baringo Twilight Gintastic

Join Macedon’s community of food, wine and spirits-makers for a celebration of all things local, featuring gin by Animus Distillery, wines by Mount Towrong and barbecue bites from $10. Baringo Food & Wine Co will bring the party with pop-up bars and live entertainment all night, against the backdrop of Mount Macedon.

A Spirited Peninsula

Try the wares of seven top-shelf Mornington Peninsula distilleries at this party complete with food trucks, cocktails and live entertainment. For those with a keen interest, the makers will pour tastings of their finest and discuss the art of distilling. For those who simply want to appreciate with their senses, rest assured you'll be covered.

Gin High Tea

The team behind Mary Eats Cake also drink gin. They’re crooking their pinkies and sipping their tea at an elegant gin-themed high tea in a country teahouse in Montrose. Alongside a menu of unlimited scones and three unique desserts, guests will also get to taste specialty gin creations including a G and Tea cocktail and drinks by Four Pillars.

Made from Gin

Four Pillars takes a nose-to-tail philosophy to distilling, incorporating the by-products of its craft gins into new and delicious creations. Stimulate your mind and your senses at this session where the team explain how their botanicals are feeding their mate’s free-range pigs, how stillage becomes moonshine cheese and more. You’ll also get to taste Four Pillars gins matched to Made From Gin food creations.
