Taverna is excited to host a night of Greek home cooking, taking place on Greek Independence Day, featuring the talents of four female chefs who will take you on a journey through their regional homeland. Taste and flavour are always influenced by what the eyes see, as recipes change with the seasons and available ingredients.

Taverna's Angie Giannakodakis has invited four women, author Ella Mittas, Kathy Tsaples (Sweet Greek), Angela Nicolettou (Angela's Kitchen) and Nicole Konstandakopolous (Stalactites) to come together and create a menu based on their experiences and generational recipes lovingly passed down from their families.

"We look forward to hearing the stories and the history behind the dishes, as well as discovering your chef’s creation," says Angie. "This event is personally significant to me, especially as the aging Greek population departs us, and I hope that the recipes of the next generation will continue to honour and remember the Greek heritage we cherish.

"This event highlights the cooking of our mothers and grandmothers, and these wonderful women will explore that rich culinary tradition, honouring our heritage, celebrating our past, creating our future."
